Fascinating! I never heard of the game. I was in the Navy from 1968 through 1971. It wasn't played on our ship, unless it was played in the wardroom, which might be possible, since our XO was a WWII vet. Does anyone know if playing the game is still a military custom? |

We played backgammon, acey-deucey, and several other variants (in the wardroom) in the 1990's, though spades, euchre, and poker were more popular. Cribbage and various domino games were more popular ship wide. And, of course, nobody was illegally betting on the outcomes … |
