Before I break out the green stuff, I was wondering if anyone makes any rats in 15mm. Normal rats, not human sized rats with weapons. I want a few bases of rats to use as plague markers for something I'm working on (might have an English Civil War connection…)
Thanks in anticipation |

Splintered Light has them, though, despite SL's offerings normally being quite good, this one isn't especially menacing. Google "15mm rat swarm" and it looks like half the Etsy vendors make them, tho they aren't very good at helping you gauge the actual size. All their offerings would give a sensible person the heeby geebies. :》 |

Thanks. Searching for "rats 15mm" and "15mm rats" was getting me nowhere. Adding "swarm" was the magic ingredient. Agree with you about the Splintered Light offering, I went the Etsy route |

I looked for some a while ago but they all seemed too big. So I made some using sesame seeds. The seeds are aligned more or less in the same direction. Once painted a suitable colour, I added some lighter ears and some of them have a tail painted across the terrain or their ratty friends. I used a much lighter pink than reality, otherwise the effort was wasted. En masse, they give the right effect IMHO, pretty quick to do and no money wasted if you happen to have any seeds available. The rats are following a pipe playing musician in multi-coloured clothing – part of my Medieval German army. I may add a base with some children to follow behind, though I found I had already used most of the suitable figures in other places. |
