Okay so the other day I realized, that I called the table in which I paint/build/create, etc., a variety of names. I often have called it "The workbench", which while it does do a lot of work, it's not really a bench. I've also called it "The work table", "the painting desk", "the painting table", "the hobby table", "the hobby desk", and occasionally "The table of chaos and madness". So I was wondering what others call the table that they do their painting and working on? |

+1, Perris0707. Alternatively, I call it my craft/painting room/area. My wife bought me a corner countertop with cupboards underneath, years ago, as a surprise birthday present. We had it professionally installed in the previous house; removed it before we sold the house, and I installed it myself, in our unfinished furnace room, of our new house. The countertop is a real mess of paint/urethane-stain marks, but it gets used, every chance I have the energy to work on stuff. Cheers! |

Where I paint is my "painting desk". It is an old roll-top desk with the roll-top long broken and removed. Where I set up my figures in scenes or game is my "soldier table". It is a 6 foot X 8 foot table with a 3/4 inch top and 2 X 4's for framing and legs. |

"What do you call your table?" A table. I paint while sitting on a rug… ;-) |

My game table, when I can find it. I know it's there somewhere under boxes of figures, trays of paint jars, my son's fishing paraphranalia, stuff that just gets dumped there, and an assortment of plastic model kits. Oh, and tools. But it's there, and someday I'm going to clean it off, and set up a game. Yeah. Someday. |

The kitchen table, or simply "the table," because it's the only one in the house. Though maybe I should change it to Tabley McTableface. |

The painting table… which is a bit of a misnomer as the table doesn't paint anything… |

Mine never comes when I call it, so it doesn't really matter… I call mine "the craft(ing) desk", and the room it's in is "the craft room". |

The dining table. As that is where I do most of my painting. I have a highly efficient mobile workstation consisting of a large tray with my immediate use tools, glue etc and a cutting board, plus a box with my immediate use paints, brushes and painting glasses. The current project lives in the current project box. I also prefer to paint in the dining room as that is where my sound system, CDs and LPs are. |

I call it the Painting Table if the subject of the conversation is painting or the Workbench if it's about the general mayhem of the area. |

I usually say "the painting table", but strictly speaking it's one leg of an L-shaped office desk, so I guess I should say "the painting half-table". |

My gaming area is in the basement, where I set up my painting area in the area of my television. I can watch my beloved Detroit professional teams and Wolverines play while I paint or game. It is the same area where I set up my games and keep all of my figures. Additionally, my 2-3 times per month game groiup has been meeting here (last night we had 12 people) for over 25 years. I affectionally call the space The Bunker. It fits. |
