Today's post is aimed squarely at those who are completely new to the P&S period. Maybe you have pre-ordered lots of boxes from Warlord. Hopefully this post will answer lots of your questions

(Also relevant for non-Epic players too. Those of you familiar with the blog might find it a useful bookmark for all the painting and colour guides)

As much as I love the look of the Wsrlord Games Epic sets, don't forget if you're brand new and want an easy way out, wofUN games makes the plexiglass figures in 18mm and 28mm.

Dave, it's a good point, and I'm still hanging onto my ECW prospects.

Sort of like the TMP poll that Editor Bill submitted -

I had dabbled with an 18mm WoFun battalia, to see if I could make it base-less. The interleaved and staggered joints between the pikemen and musketeer blocks seen helps keep the 3 troop stands together now, but the 3 groups can be separated, for like casualty removal.

I'm still hanging onto my "easy way out" thoughts too.

Thanks for the kind comments. Happy to hear that it is useful.

There's a lot of really good stuff available for those of us who are passionate about the Wars of the Three Kingdoms: the Bloody Miniatures 28mm character packs, the Wofun stuff, Blue Moon's beautiful extensive range at 18mm, the Steel Fist true 15s, the infinitely adaptable Peter Pig 15s, and now the Epic range. (Sorry to all the wonderful 28, 25, 10, 6 and smaller ranges that I have missed out because I don't know much about them). Definitely a boom time
