I'm very excited over Sam's Nimitz, but as a sideline to my main hobby interests, so I'm not going to break the bank on this one.

I looked at Magister Militium and the price for 1/2400 was breath taking. So I thought Navwar 1/3000 could be the answer. However I cannot seem to find a dealer in the UK for them, are they still in business? Alternatively what other options could be suggested, I do not want to drop to 1/4800 or climb to 1/1800 as I do not like the big bubble bases on the warlord ships.

Navwar IS in the UK. It always has been.

Thanks for the reply, it's a horrible site.

It's a horrible site, I can get on it. The navigation is terrible, it looks like nothing updated since 2020 and every time I click onto a ship to purchase I'm getting a 500 internal error message. Do we know if they are still trading?

They are as far as I know.

The shopping basket takes you to an order form to print out and mail. Just print off the order form and fill it in by hand.

Yes, I know, but that's the way he does business.

The site works for me, no error messages. Have you tried clearing your cache?

Navwar is perhaps the quintessential "old school" model vendor. We crusty old codgers who started out ordering stuff by writing out orders on a form and mailing it in with a check well remember those "good old days."

Navwar may have eschewed many of the newer techno-bells and whistles, but, based on their rep, once you get your order in, your stuff will appear with very 21st Century speed.

If you'd specify what particular period you're interested in, we might be able to suggest other 1/2400 1/3000 vendors, tho a lot of them are US based.

Thanks for all the replies. In the 21st century we are all used to having tech make everything seamless.
I am interested in the Med with the RN v Italy. Although that might drift (see what I did there) to the North Sea and Arctic Convoys, dipping into Norway as well.

As noted above, you need to send Navwar a form. The stuff turns up pretty quickly.

Thanks for your help, a Matapan battle pack ordered and only £27.00 GBP, thats two ships from GHQ!
It was like going back in time, at one point I had flashbacks to my schooldays sending a postal order to buy Heroics and Ross tanks.

Yes, VERY old school but good to deal with. I live in the US and have no trouble getting my stuff in a timely manner.

Ah the good old days. I remember writing to the retailer with a shopping list, waiting until they wrote back with a price, and then sending a cheque and waiting for the delivery. It probably took 3-4 weeks but it seemed like forever.

I also remember having sent a Postal Order to pay for things and hoping I'd got the sums correct.

Other ranges to look at are Davco and Mick Yarrow.

MR, I discovered a couple of International Postal Orders at the back of my desk drawer last week. I wonder if they are still good?
