Hey all So I have a few mounted french infantry colonels to base. I don't want to put them on the base alone. Question is. Who would be with him? Cheers in advance Bryan |

Batman, regimental sergeant-major, drummer, aide de camp, light-cavalryman, civilian/farmertype (spy !), civilian/farmertype guarded by footsoldier (prisoner), commander of one of his companies (voltigers perhaps), wounded officer of the same regiment. |

Historically we always based infantry colonels on foot with an 'empty' horse on the same base if he was deployed with his regiment. If he was deployed at a higher command level he would have an ADC with him, both mounted. |

For my ACW brigade command stands I have one officer and a flag on foot. Higher command has one mounted officer, one dismounted officer, and a standard bearer on foot. I also have one staff stand for each side made up two officers on foot. My single cavalry brigade has an officer and guidon bearer both mounted. |

I base all my battalions with the mounted colonel, standard bearer and drummer plus any other figures at random. My battalions are 30-36 figures strong, and the command stand is placed in the middle. Further, I have a couple single based colonels available to replace any fallen Brigade Generals. |
