Hey all

So I have a few mounted french infantry colonels to base. I don't want to put them on the base alone. Question is. Who would be with him?

Cheers in advance

Batman, regimental sergeant-major, drummer, aide de camp, light-cavalryman, civilian/farmertype (spy !), civilian/farmertype guarded by footsoldier (prisoner), commander of one of his companies (voltigers perhaps), wounded officer of the same regiment.

Historically we always based infantry colonels on foot with an 'empty' horse on the same base if he was deployed with his regiment.

If he was deployed at a higher command level he would have an ADC with him, both mounted.

For my ACW brigade command stands I have one officer and a flag on foot. Higher command has one mounted officer, one dismounted officer, and a standard bearer on foot. I also have one staff stand for each side made up two officers on foot. My single cavalry brigade has an officer and guidon bearer both mounted.

I base all my battalions with the mounted colonel, standard bearer and drummer plus any other figures at random. My battalions are 30-36 figures strong, and the command stand is placed in the middle. Further, I have a couple single based colonels available to replace any fallen Brigade Generals.
