What colour were the NCO stripes on the grey uniforms issued to British troops in the 1st Sudan War 1885?

That would be the three campaigns of 1884-85, no?

I am unable to cite contemporary chapter and verse but the illustrations (for instance Perry &co,Barthorp) indicate home service stripes or local versions in the same vein, gold coloured and perhps bordered with red.

This may have varied somewhat according to unit.

That's how I have done mine, except for the KRRC, where I have added black stripes.
