I've just started a Blog, of sorts, and for one of my first topics, I've posted about my collection of American Revolution figures by Custom Cast. I've started with the source of my collection, the catalogs where I ordered most of them from.

Good luck with the blog. I bookmarked you.

The catalogs look good. I don't ever remember seeing Iron Brigade miniatures back in the day.

My wargaming buddies Jay and Steve (and I) have a large number of Custom Cast figures in our AMR forces. They were very nicely done castings for their time.

I've also bookmarked your blog.

I had a number of these back in the 70s. I sold them off years ago. All of the unpainted one developed lead rot, so I had to pitch those (and that wasn't too many years ago). The dismounted Brunswick dragoons were my favorite castings.

Lucky for me, one of first things I did with my figures was to clean the flash off, and back in the 70s or 80s I'd spray them with Floquil primer, usually white. I understand that lead rot usually only happens to unpainted figures, by I'm no expert. I believe that figures produced by Iron Brigade had a higher pewter content, which is a fair amount of my collection. It was probably harder on the molds, so the quality of the casting wasn't always as good with the older figures.

I picked up several 100 of them a few years ago on TMP. They were my 1st American Rev figs (other than Airfix).

Thanks
