I used to get Airfix plastic figures in small army packs, I have seen some Airfix models but they are the larger scale and I am looking for HO scale or compatible. Are they still available or are they now considered as collectibles.

Airfix 1/72nd scale figures are still being made. They cycle through the range with a dozen or so sets per year being released. Most are not too hard to find.
I get them direct from the UK at Hannants. Great hobby shop, mail order is fast, prices even with postage are reasonable.
I run an Airfix group on Facebook with nearly 8,000 members.
Certainly they will have additional information.

HaT also reissued many of the Airfix figures. You can also find them on ebay (but resist impulse buying, you can sometimes find deals… ;-)

In the U.S. it looks like they have most of the WW2 sets at Michigan Toy Soldier Company.

Hobby Bunker has them as well, they're out of Massachusettes.

Airfix figures should be readily available.

What do you mean by 'army packs'?

This is a resource you might find helpful:

For a great many sets, they will show you the mix of figures.
Also, they review the quality and the size of the figures.

I have vast quantities of AIRFIX sets both original and reissued by HAT and ACCURATE as well as most other brands of 1/72 scale plastic figures and all are 1/2 price plus postage. Email me and I can send you lists. bobwagner@optonline.net

Be aware that some of the older sets that you may get on EBay suffer from 'plastic rot' and the figures often snap easily, if they aren't already broken.
