Title says it all.

While I presume that the Big Three (Historicon, Little Wars, & Cold Wars) would have games of TSATF going on beyond the Scheduled Games, I know there are some smaller, regional Cons that definitely feature games with these timeless rules, but can't for the life of me recall them by name.

A UK customer bought the rules from Sergeants 3 and some Dependent Variants, and wants to know what Cons in the US he might attend this year where he could play the game.

Further, he wanted to know about any such Cons in the UK where he might find fellow players.

If anyone cares to provide some contact info for any of these (though Cold Wars seems a might too close for his practical attendance), please post it here, or PM me, as your prefer.

Thanks, O Hive Members, for helping a fellow fan on the other side of The Pond.

There are always TSATF games at the HMGS-South cons. The next one is RECON in April:

Cincy con this weekend there are at least 3. Don't imagine that helps though.

I've always had the impression that European especially British gamers rather looked down on TSATF. I doubt you'd find it played at any UK con.

I lived in Huntingdon, England, for eight years. TSATF made quite a hit, and many members bought copies of the rules and armies. I don't know the status now, but if he lives near Huntingdon he may want to check it out.

I have run convention games of TS&TF before and might do again this October at Gamehole, in Madison, Wisconsin. Not just colonial scenarios, but a Jacobite 1745 variant! Gamehole is a splendid medium-size convention with lots of convenience, accessible lodging, a great staff, and a ton of games, all sorts. Come check it out! We're a short plane hop or coach ride from the big airport in Chicago. Cheers! Here's a link to the official website: gameholecon.com

I'm a Brit, and I've been playing TSATF (and variants) since the 1st edition (soled in the UK through the Guardhouse, if anyone remembers).

I am running Italians vs Abyssinians at CincyCon this coming Saturday using TSATF. as Ferd45231 said above, little too close, timing wise.

Gentlemen All!

Once more, I have NOT been disappointed by the fans of the rules by The Immortal Sergeant.

I will be sharing your contacts and recommendations with the Gent who is looking to join the ranks.

If any others care to add to this list, please don't let my post give you the impression I'm sated.

Cheers!

Hi Patrick, just to expand on NCC1717, both ReCon and HurriCon in Kissimmee / Orlando Florida both run a full slate or TSATF games. We run at least one TSATF game each and every session on a dedicated table just for TSATF colonial gaming!!!! These start Thursday evening and finish with the last game Saturday night for a total of at least (7) different TSATF based games just on the colonial table.

Convention sign up link, the colonial TSATF games on the dedicated table will upload shortly.

recon rocks for TSATF. always had great fun there

TVAG,

To echo the above comments regarding the HMGS-South conventions, TSATF is always a big hit at both RECON and HURRICON. So much so that Sgt. Guinness and I decided to team up for a joint land & sea event at RECON 2024 featuring AOTF and TSATF, based on the movie "The Wind And The Lion". We had hoped to run it this year but there is more planning than we anticipated. So stay tuned for more…

Hi Italwars1, yes sir, indeed we are. Me and a few of my friends are actually engaged in a remote NWF campaign with 2 of the players living in Italy.
Here's the campaign link: link

Admiral Rich and I are working out the details for an Epic weekend next year at the con! We will have linked land battles using TSATF and naval actions using Admiral of the Fleet.

Italwars…. it's a definite bummer that you denied Sgt. Guinness & myself the chance to come to know you better as an ALLY AND/OR ENEMY across the remote map-board and even more so the remote miniature wargame tabletop lo those 2 years or so ago when your Italian brother-in-miniature-arms kicked off this crazy NWF campaign of ours off!!! I believe we invited you to join us but you diplomatically passed.

Being reminded from time to time -- like now -- that you could have been part of it is probably the only down-side of the ongoing campaign!

Changing topics… wow, Admiral Rich, please give lots of notice when you and SgtGuinness have that game ready to go at some future Florida convention! I will try to plan a cross-continental trip in order to attend!

Gents,

Have no fear that Sarge and I will be offering up a major event at RECON 2024 and will make our progress public.

RECON and HURRICON, despite being regional gaming events, do tend to draw some international attendees (I had two from the UK at HURRICON 2022 in my AOTF games).

Given that we are working out a timeline of events that can result in changes in both the naval (AOTF) and land (TSATF) battles, there is much work to do. But we do have a complete street map of Tangier showing all the forts, gates, batteries, consulates and legations.

The basic premise of this interpretation of 'The Wind And The Lion' is that the Germans and Italians end up fighting the French and Americans, and one of the naval actions features an attempt by the battleships ITALIA and LEPANTO to land troops in the Bay of Tangier.
