I was reflecting on aspects of Toyota Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing. Yes, it applies to IT as well but I wondered if Katas could be applied to painting miniatures. FYI: Kata – "small routines that allow us to continually improve" It started with a FLGS 30 minute painting challenge. It made one think about priorities and alternate techniques. Then I watched a YouTube video where a model was painted and the highlight was a only a mix of the same off white in various proportions. A recent GW video painted miniatures used only the 6 paints and brush in the set. I've often thought about a similar 10 color challenge (GW free paint pot bundle) Painting katas are not a regular thing. Maybe you use the free mini of the month as the subject. |
