Gentlemen,

Tactica II, with a few scenario special rules, were used to stage a refight of just a portion of the large battle of Raphia.

An open invitation for review and constructive comments is hereby extended . . .

Great historical context. I got the 1st edition Tactica when it was released (at a convention if I remember correctly), but have not used Tactica II. Raphia has been of interest to me for a long time, since the GDW Series 120 game of 1977:

I like the use of counters for large battles, and did a lot of that in the distant past:

Hi there fellow Trekkie,

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment.

I do not have the original Tactica. I have Tactica II and have tried several games. I have also done a lot of tinkering with the rules, despite objections or cautions from the 90-member online group.

Lots of dice rolling.

Yes, agreed. Raphia does make for an interesting game, both in the larger context and when narrowed down to more manageable parts.

Appreciate the provided links. I recall having System 7 as well . . . It has been ages though, since I wargamed in that period.

Cheers,
Chris
