Guess that's not a problem anymore.
I have heard nothing about it recently. Maybe while looking for white supremacist, they found some gang members too. You go on a witch hunt … you will find a witch … what a surprise …

So if the military downsized why didn't they get those people to transfer to a new mos or even branch?
They wanted to get rid of bodies so they could become smaller. And as they downsize, they needed specific MOSs. Every two years in the Army we used to get a small raise.

It is cheaper to get in lower ranks, even if you have to train them. Than paying some one of high rank. And if they RIF you, they don't have to pay you retirement if you make it to 20. I was RIF'd. <hangs head in shame>

Downsizing comes down to $ …

Whatever the USMC structure is or should be they really don't need to be Army 1.5.
They never were an Army 1.5. They were smaller, lighter in many aspects, many times at least some of them, are aboard ships. They are specialized in amph landing.

Yeah the Army could get aboard a USN ship, and do Amph ops, and have. I graduated from Basic Amph Training at Norfolk. We cross train, USMC go to ARMY Parachute and/or Ranger schools, etc. The USMC got rid of their 200 M1 MBTs. They became even lighter.

The Army is a much heavier organization. It has to be for its missions. And the Army has Light & Heavy Divs. as well other smaller Light & Heavy units.

An Army Tank or Mech Div has more than 200 MBTs. 200 MBTs is about 4 Armor Bns. A reinforced Bde. One Army Tank or Mech Div has 9-10 Bns. And a mix of Tank & Mech Bns.

they're also not going ot land MBTs ala WWII
We avoid forced entry ops. Losses are just much too high. And many in the Military thinks and rightly so, it's the 21st Century, we don't throw people and equipment away. Unless you are Russian …

We will never have a ground war in China. For many obvious reasons. We may take on Chicom forces on Taiwan. And our forces will include M1s, etc. We would not make a force entry ops. The Chicoms will … But that at this time is highly unlikely.

Hmmmm…USAF leadership are releasing the military records of Republican politicians to Democrat opposition research firms…that's not at all problematic! And then the same leadership wonder why they can't meet recruitment and retention targets…

Anna Paulina Luna says her military records likely leaked by Air Force to Dem firm as scandal grows…

Almost a dozen of GOP lawmakers and former candidates have now come out saying they were impacted by the Air Force's "unauthorized" release of military information. Much of the records appear to have been requested by and turned over to an opposition research firm that received money from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), the campaign arm for House Democrats.

Former GOP House candidate Jennifer-Ruth Green was another veteran whose personnel records, including details of a sexual assault that occurred during her time in the Air Force, were released to the public without her consent. The Air Force admitted in a letter that her military personnel records were released to a third party "without proper redaction."

We need to clean house on this stuff or we won't survive as a nation.

Yes I found that interesting. Especially since it was not the first time and all have been Republicans. 🤔

Yeah … seems like the USAF is choosing sides. The Military is not supposed to be political. There is an investigation going to happen IIRC. And yes heads should roll. It may have been a low level drone. E.g. when that low rank individual released classified intel to Wikileaks. He ended up going to Leavenworth. Was pardoned by Obama(?!?!??). In the old days he would have been shot for treason.

But I guess it does not matter who releases classified intel or has an unsecured server, etc. Everyone gets a get out of jail free card it seems. Regardless, once released he got a sex change. And was a hero to some. You can't make this Bleeped text up.

So who asked for Luna's records? A reporter or the Democratic operatives? What type of records? Her supervisor could still be there, or someone there told him, what did he do about this? Who has all these records now? Have the records or contents subsequently been revealed somehow? What laws may have been broken? This reporter couldn't ask a question? -the article sounds like Luna's press release.

I agree this sounds like a nasty issue, especially for the Air Force. They already released an unredacted file, apparently.

In this case these records can't be released to the public, or anyone without consent, IIRC. Or if there is a warrant of some type out by law enforcement or FBI, CIA, etc. investigation.

More skullduggery by our gov't … again it seems …

Tortorella Supporting Member of TMP28 Feb 2023 6:06 p.m. PST

Yea, I know, but the reporter wrote half a story. I avoided the press like the plague – I never saw them let go of a bone like this.

My point is that the news reporter did not try very hard to pin down what happened. Somebody should be in big trouble. I agree it might be a drone, but everybody works for somebody…

It sounds like there are a lot of questions about Luna's version of her bio getting national attention, which I did not realize. But her rights must still be protected. Even People magazine agrees…
I see there is another new guy, Rep. Ogle, who has admitted to lying about his education credentials during his campaign.

Well the US may have to starting building T2 Robots to make up for the hole in the ranks …

I see there is another new guy, Rep. Ogle, who has admitted to lying about his education credentials during his campaign.
Wait … you mean a politician has lied !?!?!?!? I know some in very high places did and do the same often. Who would have thought ?!?!? 😱

These are rookies.. and seem willing to say anything to land this job. I think you are supposed to start lying after you get elected? You have to earn it!

Seems they lie before, during, and after …

doc mcb03 Mar 2023 10:34 a.m. PST

Words is what politicians trade in. It is all they produce. The exception is when a pol is in an executive position and has to actually DECIDE something, which they mostly avoid like the plague. (Oh, wait . . . )

@Tortella: "So who asked for Luna's records? A reporter or the Democratic operatives?"

From the article:

If this was an episode of "Law & Order", they would know who is guilty.

Tortorella Supporting Member of TMP03 Mar 2023 6:45 p.m. PST

Yea but her supervisor said the contact was with a reporter and an unnamed news outlet is mentioned. This story needs more than just sound bites from Luna's office. I get that she may be controversial, but her rights were violated. Whether it was the press or political operatives, this should not happen. Make it stop.
