This short story appeared in the February 1950 issue of Adventure Magazine. The author, George C. Appell, was a prolific pulp author found in many magazines and later paperbacks from 1944 to 1957. He mostly wrote westerns but also occasional work for the mystery pulps and general fiction titles like Short Stories and Adventure.
