Hi Everyone, Today I have continued my HOTT in Middle Earth campaign with another battle from the times before the War of The Ring. In 2951 of the Third Age Sauron has openly declared himself in Mordor. In this battle the forces of darkness are sweeping over Ithilien and a brave captain tries to hold the line. The game played out quickly as HOTT usually does and I was trying out a blade and spear heavy Mordor Uruk army. It did better than the warband and hoard army from last time where the Nazgul attempted to retake Dol Guldur. This time the Gondorians were on the back foot. I didn't have enough riders to outflank the Uruks and this cost me the flank and probably the game. Oh, and not wishing to catch my blades in the Troll's infamous Buttocks of Death! Here are a few pictures of the game. All the figures are 25mm, mainly Prince August, Minifigs and Garrison. Hope you like this. Comments and crits welcome. More pictures on the blog.

Nice looking game! Love the figs! I use Prince August figs in my LOTR armies as well. I also use Heritage, Custom Cast, Grenadier and Hinchliffe. Probably a few other lines too. I think I'd use Fantastic Battles for my ME games. Each stand is about a Company. I think FB has more options to tailor my forces. I played a LOT of HOTT in the past. I had fun but the sameness eventually had me look elsewhere. They do work well for campaigns. Love to see more of your games. Thanks John |

Thank you guys. Glad you liked the game. I like HOTT but sometimes feel there could be more in the way of scenario design as it has a fixed 24 point army make up and this is sometimes "unrealistic" in my mind. But hey-ho it is what it is. |
