Apologies for the false start – performance anxiety? This was a new one for me although I wonder if they are the same group that has organised shows in Weymouth in the past? Located in the Bournemouth International Centre which is a great venue for such an events and has plenty of on-site parking. Large Reception Foyer with some cosplay photo opportunities. The Main Hall had a decent range of traders and a lot of great looking demonstration games. The biggest surprise was in the huge function room overlooking the sea. I was in there early before many of the visitors had wandered across from the Main Hall. It was packed wall to wall with dozens of competition games and there must have been in excess of 500 enthusiastic gamers. The hobby is clearly in very rude health on the South Coast? Very enjoyable event which is also on tomorrow (Sunday) if you're in the area. And you can go for a walk on the beach, a paddle and candyfloss afterwards! |
