Caldoom, such a nice place and they just keep on trucking….

Why if it weren't for the non stop rebel incursions, cultist shoot outs and nuclear explosions around the toxic waste dumps it would be positively delightful!

You forgot the wildlife as well ;-)
There's one creature which plants it's embryo in your paralysed body and as it uses you to grow, it also absorbs your memories
It didn't evolve alongside humans so the process is less efficient when it uses humans as a reproductive host.
