I'm looking for brass etched leaves (preferably oak) that I can put into the hats of some of my Austrians. GW once had a pack of these included with some other leaves and stones in a basing kit but that is now long oop. |

Maybe a craft store? I am guessing. |

You can purchase leaf punches from Green Stuff World (and others, I suppose) and some thin brass sheet and make your own, if you are so inclined. link |

Interesting options shown here! I didn't know Greenstuff World had those little punches. |

I have the set of those little punches. They work pretty well, probably better for 1/35 than 28mm but they'll work. Craft tissue paper is a bit thin for them to work well when I tested but I did do the whole "take real leaves, soak in glycerin, punch out" thing and those look pretty neat even if it's a lot of work. A variety of craft paper from the craft store should give you enough options to find the best one. I haven't tried thin brass and can't say how well they'll hold up, personally I'd try a thicker/stiffer paper over brass. |

Most of the organic "scaled leaves" are just dried, crumbled Birch tree seed pods. Just harvest them when they are still green, before turn too brown. Put a parchment sheet onto a cookie pan, crumble the Birch seed pods onto that and then bake them in your oven at 250F for 15min.

SBminisguy: exactly!!! I ran into some articles a few years ago and stupid me put 1+1 and realized I have my own supply in my front yard. And like a sucker I've been ignoring them. |
