I've been looking at a number of companies that make wargame table mats and don't know which to choose. I am looking for someone who can make a 2mm suitable mat with a 3 inch or 75mm grid that is either a US company or ships to the US at a reasonable rate. I am looking for something that is not very expensive but will still look good and will not fall part fast. Any suggestions for which company to go with? (I have some nice mats from cigar box, and I just mark the grids with felt dots, but I would like something with the grid printed on that looks nicer than doing tablecloth and marker myself). |

I thought Cigar Box now offer grids? |

Cigar Box does do grids, but only 6 inches. I need a 3 inch or 75mm grid. |

Couple of places from TMP Manufacturer's section that sell gridded mats of various sizes, terrain and grid size: BigRedBat Ventures link DeepCut Studios deepcutstudio.com I've ordered DeepCut mats from Big Red Bat (Simon Miller) and have had outstanding service. I've not ordered from Deepcutstudio directly but have heard good things about their service. |

I made my own. I used some felt for the mat that has a mottled look (look for "Reet's Relish" color) and added the grid myself. I just used light green craft paint to mark the corners of each square. Here's how I did the same thing for a hex mat for Commands and Colors: TMP link |

I've got a 3" hexmat I made with iron on transfers. Total cost $20 USD for the sky blue flannel, $10 USD for the transfer sheets, $2,500 USD for the new dining room set. |
