That is very true about the "friends" issue.

Far more widespread than they should be.

The Russians would have had an excuse not to invade Ukraine.

But unfortunately, Germany trusted them and too often looked away out of shame of its past.
Oh, and because of the cheap gas of course.
So let's stay realistic.

Well I think Germany knew he would say something like this, which is probably a part of their nervousness about tanks.

But- Germany is second only to the USA in total support to Ukraine.

The largest aid providers are USA, EU commission, UK, Germany. If you add Germany's contribution to the EU commission aid to their contribution as a nation then they have contributed more than the UK. It's not a competition, but Germany are not lagging behind despite what some parts of the press might want one to believe.

Apparently Germany have also offered 88 Leopard 1s, old and not as much armour as Leo2s and also just the 105mm main gun.

But heh, see what Ukraine can do with them.

The 105mm Leopard gun has an excellent H.E. round. Most 120mm guns do not even have an H.E. round. They use the Heat round instead, which does not work as well.

Russia currently is threatened by a lot of its own tanks… but I'm guessing they don't like to dwell on that bit!

He must think we're idiots – no Russian tank or soldier has anything to fear from anything or anyone if they are tracking around inside Russia.

When they roam around, invading other people's countries then they should expect to be targeted. That doesn't seem an unreasonable position, nor is it difficult to understand.

Mr Putin, take your people home and be safe!!

The Nato 105mm gun has never let the Israel army down vs. Russian armour.

178 Leopard Is have been approved apparently – I'm sure by tomorrows news cycle they will simultaneously be at the gates of Moscow and all smoking wrecks with pictures (probably mysterious all short one road wheel or strangely low res…)
