US SecDef Austin dropped another bombshell of incompetence in CBS interview: Austin: Spy Balloon Forced Us to Limit Movement, Communications Across Country So ‘We Didn't Expose' Nuclear CapabilitiesDuring a portion of an interview with CBS News National Security Correspondent David Martin released on Wednesday, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stated that in response to the Chinese spy balloon that flew over the country last week, the United States ensured that its nuclear bases "were buttoned down" and that "movement was limited and communications were limited so that we didn't expose any capability unnecessarily." Austin also stated that the buttoning down applied to nuclear bases all across the United States. YouTube link: YouTube link Reference article: link |

Sadly many of our Military leaders are not the Alphas of old, it appears. And if the Chicoms want their balloon back … they can come and & get it ! 🤩 And yes I said somewhere, I would not be surprised if some US tech, parts, etc. are found in the payload. |

Legion +1 Have heard that some English found on some parts, but cannot confirm that. Also, even if jammed for military targets, how much private correspondence of individuals could have been tapped. Your payment transactions, 401k, passwords and logins. One has to assume this a possibility and future use for blackmailing or $. USD |

The Chicoms seem to be everywhere. Recently more Chinese are reported crossing our Southern Border. How many of them are spies ? |

Well, our Congress had a 2d classified briefing today, IIRC. They can't say somethings obviously, its classified. But members interviewed still said they are not getting the information they need … Have heard that some English found on some parts, but cannot confirm that. Also, even if jammed for military targets, how much private correspondence of individuals could have been tapped. Your payment transactions, 401k, passwords and logins. One has to assume this a possibility and future use for blackmailing or $. USD Yes it has been reported that some of the parts were made in the English-speaking nation(s). The language on the parts were English. So … That should be no surprise … money talks. And whoever sold those parts probably had no idea what they were going to be used for. I don't doubt the Chicoms have people online, etc. monitoring everything. I think I said this before, they are probably monitoring TMP.😦 |

Based on all we have seen, by the US Gov't pointing & shaking their finger at the PRC/CCP. And telling them "Don't you do it again!" … 👉 The PRC/CCP is not shaking in their boots … They are laughing and will do whatever they want. For the reasons I and others have said. Of course, they probably are still laughing about our transgender ADM. Does not show the US coming from a position of strength & power. At least in their minds. And that is what counts. They only respect strength & power. Not US's woke, DEI, etc. concepts. |

There is some thought that Xi's ruling group is now composed only of yes men. There are signs that it is disorganized and one hand does not know what the other is doing. They seemed to struggle with a coherent response to the balloon, even apologizing before reverting to the usual rants. And the whole not answering the phone thing is a little weird. But it seems like nobody wants to take a chance on displeasing the master. For a guy that wants to be an historic player on the world stage, the balloon thing was not one of his finest moments any more than Biden's. |

Balloons seem like a strange choice to project strength. NK fires off missiles. The balloon response team in China does not exist I think. Instead there may be a room full of guys staring at the phone ringing away, afraid to answer because there was no plan and nobody wants to be the next to disappear. There are probably no Bond villains with evil laughs either. But they are looking for info on building missile sites for their nuke arsenal. We are told they got nothing, but nobody is going to really tell us anything one way or the other. Whatever they think about our cultural wars, they are not so dumb as to think those recon patrols over the South China Sea we fly 24/7 are not backed by potential force. CNN actually flew on one of these patrols recently and filmed it. Very interesting, including encounter with a Chinese frigate where both sides respected their rules of engagement. But they know we are there and they do the same with us. |

Yes,I get it… I am focused on the Navy too much maybe. Speed, concentration of force, skills… China and the Pacific would make a great wargame if it wasn't so scary. We do not think like the Chinese, who knows what they are up to in near space? |
35thOVI | 27 Feb 2023 6:22 a.m. PST |
I read somewhere that balloons are not as easily tracked, especially if you are not looking for them. I would assume size would matter too. But my fear would be mass release of small and mid range EMP's. Especially if you have purchased land near US military installations and have gotten your people into the country via open borders. Yes, a little Bond-ish (that is, before the current Bond book "clean ups" currently going on). 😉 But not out of the realm of possibilities. |

We do not think like the Chinese, who knows what they are up to in near space? It has been wargamed by the Pentagon, etc. I'm sure than more than once. The US won but at heavy losses to the USN & USAF. If the PRC/CCP don't make a successful amph. op. The US ARMY and USMC will not be involved. But must be on the ground in Taiwan just in case. |

Yes,I remember someone, maybe you saying this,Legion. The US casualties are a worry. I want the Navy to take out the escorts and transports just when they are too far out from their ports to turn back. But I still don't think they are ready. They have much to solve. Just the controlled minefields alone are a major problem. Tango I noticed that the Happe guy said the same thing about the balloons some of us say, no steering, no speed control. We go from taking out a terrorist having coffee on his balcony in Kabaul with pin point accuracy, to floating unmanned balloons going who knows where. The WW2 Japanese had no luck with their weaponized unmanned balloons either, I believe. |
