What number of people as players describes the plurality of your hobby tabletop wargaming? ("How many people do you usually game with?", but in a more formal statement.) 0 – I'm just a warpainter 1 – Me, myself, and I is not "three" 2 – PvP, baby! 3 – It's not a crowd. (It's the magic number) 4 – PPvPP or maybe PvPPP (or vPPPP collaborative) 5 – balanced numbers of players per side is for weese 6 – I got six. That's all there is. … fill in your other numbers, base ten preferred. Me? Six.

Between 1 and 3 others i.e games for 2-4, with a fairly even spread between the three options. |

Our group seems to average 4-5 players at our weekly sessions. |

I generally run my fantasy minis wargames with 4-10 players, with as close as possible, even numbers of players on each side. I try to get as many players involved, as I can. It also depends upon the size of the game offered. My preference is 3+ players; if I get enough players, I will referee, to ensure the game plays more smoothly, more quickly. I prefer to run larger games, with 500-1,000, 28mm figures on the table, as much as possible. It helps amortize my time and money investments in my figures, my terrain, my gaming table, etc. I also adore the site of so many toys being played with, by so many of my friends; watching my friends invest emotionally, cognitively, in the game, is loads of fun for me, as an organizer/provider. My 54mm Army Men games tend to have fewer players (2-6), and fewer minis on the tabletop. I try to run them on 13-foot by 30-foot tables, to make it fun. The figure counts run up to around 300-400, but that is pushing it. For a city game, smaller troop numbers are better, or it gets clogged up, and difficult to manage so many combatants in such (movement and LOS) limited, restrictive terrain. I try to give each player enough minis such that they won't be eliminated from the game, at least until the end of our play time -- no one enjoys sitting around, watching, they want to be in the heat of the battle as a participant, not as a spectator… Cheers! |

2-4 for us, occasionally 5. I occasionally play solo though! |

Games typically run from 2-6 players. It really depends on the game, scenario, and player availability. |

My traditional gaming group has wandered off into playing things I'm not interested in. I periodically hang out with one other similarly disaffected player, but we mostly watch TV and reminisce. I'm selling off stuff I know my group will never play. I go to cons, usually alone, pretty much out of stubborn habit. I do some online gaming. Do virtual opponents count? |

Do virtual opponents count? If they're people and you're playing a TTWG, it would fit the specified criteria. Synchronous or PBM/PBeM … why not? |

1-6, but more happens. With miniatures, 1-2 is typical With board games, 5 is typical, but 1-7 happens to (the latter is rare, and limited— few board games allow 7 players, or even 6.) With RPGs, 2-8, typically 3 or 5. With Wings of Glory/War and X-Wing— typically 5 or 6, have had as many as 8. |

Tacky, eto. But to answer the question, mostly one on one. I keep trying solo, but it doesn't hold my interest. |

Usually 8 to 12 players. We are doing a campaign in the War of 1812 with Expeditionary Force 54mm figures. Almost 700 figures and still growing. So far the British and Canadians have pushed us out of Canada and they are about to invade the U.S. tomorrow night. |

It ranges from 3 to 9, depending who turns up. I guess the average is about six. I usually umpire and split the players between roles, with a designated CinC for each side. |

Are you a solo gamer would be another way of wording that wouldn't reference, ahem, "self-pleasuring". I put it to you that you, sir, knew exactly what you were doing! |

Our club has about 35 or 40 members. We do miniatures, boardgames and RPGs. A typical miniatures game has anywhere from 6-10 players. |
