I have some older resin building models that have little round bubble cluster protrusions as well as light excess resin along some edges. A chisel would be ideal to scrape these off because of the angles. Can I use wood carving chisels or will that screw up both? |

Ever tried carving resin, but the chisel can be dressed up on a stone so no harm on that. |

No problem using chisels on resin with the exception that you can easily crack the resin model. |

A file might be better along the edges in order to give you more control, and perhaps less chance of cracking your pieces. |

I've used an X-acto knife with knife blades, files, and my Dremel with a grinding tool or a drill bit on resin, and not had any problems, so long as I was careful. I have some chisel bits for the X-acto, but I don't think I've used them, largely because I tend to forget I have them. I also used GW's Liquid Green Stuff to fill in the little bubble holes. Make sure any tools you use are sharp. And even then, you're as likely as not to crack the resin. Most resins used for building and figures are considerably more brittle than lead or plastic. |

Wear a mask when filing/cutting resin. Breathing in the dust is a really bad thing… For filling holes, use plaster of paris. |
