Was it not agreed that Mechs were the theme? I love some of the entries but they are not Mechs, nor Mech related, in any way I can discern.

Is the first round you paint whatever and then subsequent rounds must be Mechs?

It don't say nowhere in the rules that your original submission has to be a mech.

This round is just to pick who gets to play, based on previous work.

The lucky ones then get sent a mech to paint and the contest proper begins.

That's my understanding, anyway. Otherwise the contest is restricted to people who have previously painted mechs.

You can submit a photo of anything you've painted.

Now in my opinion, you'll get more votes if you submit a photo of a 'mech (or something close), but I've been proved wrong before…

The themes come into play during the painting rounds of the contest, are proposed by TMP readers (see other topic on this board), and are things like "jungle camo" or "flames"…

Well – if I thought I had to submit a mech I've painted – I'd have to drive 300 miles, photograph it, and then drive back since I sold all of my painted mechs three years ago before I moved!

Anything?

Like if you've painted Aunt Polly's fence? You can submit a photo of that?

Cool! I'm in!

Well Polynikes, now we know how you got the black eye shown in your avatar ; >

I just painted our bedroom. Does that count?

I've never painted a mech. I'm just finishing a unit of dwarves.

Don't ask me about painting your toenails… grin

I got it – thanks …

"The miniature in the photo can be any scale or subject…"

not

"The miniature in the photo can be any scale or subject, as long as that subject is a mech and that scale is 6mm."

autos da fe28 Oct 2005 10:06 p.m. PST

Actually, on that same rule:

"The miniature in the photo can be any scale or subject…"

I had taken this to mean the picture for round one had to be one single miniature. But since there have been some delightful units submitted, should we assume units/battles/armies etc. are fine?

Sorry for the lawyering, just trying to choose a subject.

"The photo must not have been previously posted on the internet." – you being strict on this rule ?

Cyanoacrylate29 Oct 2005 10:59 a.m. PST

I have just the picture, but I've already posted it somewhere else, some time ago.

ZandrisIV09 Nov 2005 12:00 p.m. PST

As what Cyanoacrylate said. I intend to enter some mechs into a painting competition elsewhere, and they're my best work. Can they not be used again?

Plus,

Anyone have a link to the entry site?

Cheers

Yes

It can be the same mechs – but a different picture.
