Earlier this week I was fortunate to have a visit from a local wargamer and we played the Alter of freedom scenario for 1st Manassas. There is a full write up with lots of pictures on my blog.

Very cool stuff. First Manassas has always been the battle that most intrigues me. Small scales like 2mm suit gaming the battle because of the nature of the deployment.

I really like your table and the bases look very sharp. I haven't played Altar of Freedom but I've heard good things. The artillery mechanics sound interesting. Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed it.

What is the base size?

Is a base a brigade?

Elenderil – very well executed Sir!

(I'm going back to your link here, to look and read this more in-depth….like a sponge)

Btw, did you ever complete your 2mm ECW rules?

Elenderil31 Jan 2023 12:54 p.m. PST

Leaf fan – I left it that way to see if you would spot it…honest!

79thPA – base sizes are 60 x 30mm and each base is a brigade, artillery battery or an HQ, or if it's a 30 x 30mm base a general and their staff.

Flyxwire – I have a completed enough for me set of the ECW rules. Message me via comments on the blog and I will email a set if your interested. I won't post the comment to the blog if it has your email address though

Elenderil, that's most generous of you, and much appreciated.
