I am trying to prepare some temlpates for the Grenadiers of the 1st Foot Guards Regiment.
I prepared to versions with slightly different version of mitre, marked with A and B; which one would you suggest?

I like "A" better.

I like "A" also, but I think they would be clean shaven.

A is nicer IMHO.

Thanks all. I think I will opt for A version. I will try to shave it.

Thanks everyone. So following your suggestions I used the A pattern mitre for the second shooting Grenadier

Just finished a marching Grenadier as well. So the idea is to prepare a 2 COYs (40 men each) at 1:1 ratio, just to have the first glance of them. If I will have time (and will) I will prepare an entire Foot Guards Battalion ready to attack on the Schellenberg. Next post

No moustaches for British Grenadiers from the early- late c18th. There are I think some refs to the earliest Grenadiers of the 1680s and 90s with moustaches, and a few mentions in the late c18th, but clean-shaven between those periods.

Nice designs, but I think they they are left/right mirror-imaged.

I will erase moustache, even though they are invisible on my papersoldiers. Thanks

The pictures are all left handed…presumably the finished papersoldiers will correct this?

paperbattles03 Mar 2023 10:10 a.m. PST

@bobm actually not… maybe later. For the moment I focus on the best visual, so I keep this pose left/right handed
