For the War of 1812, in the naval actions between the Royal Navy and the US Navy, the US Navy won most of the ship-to-ship actions, and for the land war, the year 1814 saw a string of American successes on the Niagara frontier, Plattsburg, Baltimore, and New Orleans.

There were two 'fleet' actions on the Great Lakes, both won overwhelmingly by the US Navy.

The French word "Bistro" is courtesy the Cossachs. Seems they used/yelled it a lot. In Russian it means "faster." Whenever food/drink services moved too slowly it was their go to word.
