Hundvig Fezian is not a real big fan of pre-painted minis, and he positively despises randomly-packed "collectable" ones - so why is he writing this article?

Just getting started collecting 28mm for this era. Can you please recommend a reliable uniform guide for USMC and US Army in Vietnam? In color is preferred.

Thank you.

My go to book would be:

"Vietnam: US Uniforms in color photographs" by Kevin Lyles from The Crow Press – Europa Militaria Special No 3

All branches with uniform reconstruction by year.

Also by Kevin Lyles "US Infantry Vietnam" from Concord Publication Company. Both reproductions and actual color photographs for the first 32 pages of a 64 page magazine type book.

try to get hold of the book "Modelling and painting Vietnam Wargames" by Mick Farnworth.

there are not only uniform guides on all combatants, but also on vehicles, building terrain etc.

included are pictures of painted miniatures done by the most talented painters I know

Remember that any soldier serving in the Central Highlands should be liberally dusted with red clay.

Another vote for the Concord Publishing books…it's an excellent guide.
