I had to come up with some siege rules for a campaign, which, by popular demand, uses Dragon Rampant for working out the siege/assault & field battles. It's tough to make Dragon Rampant work with siege rules, but I think I achieved a fair balance of realism vs. playability. Has anyone out there tried to derive a Dragon Rampant Siege Warfare variant? link |

Our club played an 8 player "Siege of Jerusalem" game. It was based on rules in a magazine. Basically each section of wall had a number of SPs, and siege engines dealt damage . Once the wall was down you could charge through. Pictures of the game: flic.kr/s/aHBqjAp15b |

I wrote campaign rules as well, using "Wizard Kings" as the base game, then Dragon Rampant for the battles: link |

Divine Right was a classic IMO, as silly as it was, we always had fun with it. So much imagination went into the nations and characters. I hope it will be published again someday. But in the meantime, these old games on VASA with electronic maps and components are excellent. It was not that hard to modify and add to the counters in order to use it for a miniatures campaign which is so much better than the "combat system" used by the original game. And unlike the campaign Mr. Crispy ran, there is no need to have a physical map with magnetic counters and such… Not that there is anything wrong with that, but the convenience of everyone having an electronic map to move their units, save the file and send to the GM facilitating the strategic portion of the game and limiting situational awareness of each player is what makes it work for us. |

Mr Crispy – I do really like your unit counter statistics sheet and Dragon Rampant ready reference. Very handy, and I agree better than what is included in the DR rules. It would be nice if you could maybe post those player aids in native format for those of us who don't have Acrobat Professional. But if not, I think I will recreate the unit stat sheet and Dragon Rampant reference for use in my game sans the Wizard Kings bits. I did get some new ideas from those bits, too, though… I like the assignment of a scouting value to the troops instead of assuming that all troop types are equally effective in scouting on the strategic map. |

What is VASA? Is that a at time play Divine Right electronically? If so, do you have a link? I loved that game! |

Sorry, I had a typo above. I meant VASSAL. Yes, you can play online assuming you have opponents. You will find a Divine Right module at the site, along with "over 2600" other games, so they report. vassalengine.org |
