Have started watching when available on DVD. Rather impressive. Wonderful locations, sets and CGI! Casting does NOT jar… thought it would, but fine. Not 'Fantastic' but well worth the watch. Can be a bit confusing as plot moves around a lot… Somethings, such as Raft are just silly… but much worse TV! Prefer House Of Dragons… but we are short of Fantasy!

I thought it was better than HoD. Leave it to HBO to end a series so badly that the entire franchise is tainted.

RoP was fine except for the multi racial fantasy races. Homo Sapiens are divided into Mongoloid, Negroid and Caucusoid but why Elves and Dwarves? Since Elves were created I guess they don't all have to be effeminate blue eyed blondes but that is what we expect from literature.

Let's hope we get to see more of Galadriel hopefully wearing less.

I really enjoyed RoP. A bit of of a slow start but it just got better and better. I couldnt give two hoots about the varied skin tones, although Elronds hair was hilarious.

Personally I thought HoD was better, or at least different, but I prefer all the back stabbing, complex characters and intrigue to the swelling music, jut jawed nobility and long gazes which Peter Jackson seems to have inflicted on screen representation of Middle Earth.
