I just had a chance to take a good close look at these new minis from Wargames Atlantic. Entitled "Ooh-Rah" they represent near-future Space Marines (as in Aliens, not a 40K context). These are some of the very best minis I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. A full photo review of the sprues can be found here link

Do they come with bases?

Nice models.

They do look nice, but a bit stiff.

I'm working on them now. They do not come with bases. I purchased a couple hundred knock-off GW bases cheap on eBay and use them.

Ab-so-lute badasses!

Nuke them all from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

I've seen this line. Some nice Imperial Guards, reminiscent of early 2000s GW.

How hard are these to assemble? I've never done plastics.

Not bad, could be a decent substitute for Halo Insurrection faction.

Any info as to exactly how tall they are? Actual 28mm, 28mm heroic scale (30-31mm tall)?

Silurian20 Jan 2023 9:49 a.m. PST

These look really nice. I'll chuck them into my GW spaceship terrain.

Mister Tibbles, I build mine using plastic model cement, the thick tube-type. The glue is viscous enough to hold the part in place but for the first thirty seconds or so it will allow repositioning of the item that is being attached. Mt biggest issue is that I want to customize every figure (which slows things down a bit!).

billclo,
I didn't do any exact measurements but they are a bit on the heroic side of 28mm without getting into the 35mm zone

Nice! Some totally not Colonial Marines might be handy for something I have in mind.

and then there are the full-face sheilds, in case they get deployed to a place with toxic air, like Beijing or Newark

You should know that people from Beijing and Newark don't trust any air they can't see.

What is the actual height of a standing figure from soles of feet to top of head in millimeters? I'll be happy if figures advertised as 28mm are actually about 28mm tall.

My mouse-wheel slipped and showed a great close up of the sprues. Very crisp work coupled with terrific sculpting.
If I ever get the urge to use something like this, these would be my go to sculpts.

Oberlindes Sol LIC, These guys are bigger than your average 28mm figure the way that an NFL player is bigger than most other athletes, No freakishly large heads, hands or weapons just beefy. they are certainly in the 29/30mm area
