I have a 1940 French Cavalry unit armed with carbines. I looked for carbines in all the books and didn't see them mentioned nor could I find them on the chart. Are they treated as rifles? Do carbines have the same range as rifles in Bolt Action?

From a Bolt Action perspective, the French carbines should have the same range values as rifles. Both weapons were equally effective in the typical range represented on-table.

I agree. Most people seem to play on a 3x3 or 4x4 table, which is well within effective range of both weapons.
