My latest blog gives some tips and hints on how to assemble and paint the Fire Forge Northern Folk rabble set. I've used these to make a couple of units of Levy for my growing Never Mind the Bill Hooks Army. The set is perhaps too early for the WOTR period but certainly builds into a nice set of 'revolting peasants'! You can read my blog here:

Those look really great. Oft been tempted by these particular figures. I bought the FireForge Kickstarter but have yet to finish the figures that came in the box.

Captain: "Sire! The peasants are revolting!!"
King: "You can say that again!"

Paint job is very nice.

Very nicely done unit and an interesting blog post. Thanks.

Thanks for the blog, Steve. Great looking paint job. Been looking at this set for my next WOTR project, the Siege of Esgaroth. Hard to believe there aren't more medieval townsfolk sets out there. All the STL 3D printer files seem to be either peasant zombies or too towny townsfolk (ie lacking weapons)

Looks like they took a few days off from groveling and foraging to get a really good paint job. Well done, sir!

Look more like Yeomen the Peasant but at that nicely painted and based.

Are the archers' arms from a different source? I can't see them on the sprue in the photo.

Arcane Steve08 Feb 2023 5:03 a.m. PST

Hi MacColla, no, the archers arms are on the same sprue. By the time that I had got around to writing the blog I had already assembled the archers – you can see the missing spaces on the sprue. I'm sorry about the confusion!

MacColla08 Feb 2023 2:32 p.m. PST

Thanks Steve.
Though speaking as a part-time archer, I wouldn't want to stand on a shooting line next to the guy in the middle of the front row!

I don't see that at all. They look very peasant like to me.

Nice work.

dapeters05 Feb 2024 2:16 p.m. PST

IDK, they don't appear to have any ware on their clothing, which all looks very new and they seemed to be well feed. Again the painting and basing is really good.
