I played a solo run thru of the Battle of Palo Alto. The rules were Field of Battle 3, all of the figures are from the fabulous 10mm Mexican American War range from Cracker Line.

The rules are really enjoyable, the variation in card decks and dice add alot of feel for the difference in command and quality. The US won, but it was a close battle. More info and pics here on my blog: link

A lovely setup. Your base thickness looks just the right size for safe handling of the figs. A very good idea to do a solo walk through first. Looking forward to the 2-player AAR!

Inspirational! I'm doing almost the same thing! Same figures (although I've converted OG 10mm Brits into Mexican line infantry to give a more massed look)!
Now you can do the Battle of Resaca de la Palma!

d88mm1940: I'd love to see your figs, the strip idea sounds awesome. I assembled the armies for Palo Alto because it also allowed me to game Resaca de la Palma. I will build up so I can game Buena Vista, need to have an excuse to paint up the Grenadier Guards and 11th Line in their pretty uniforms!
