I bought a bunch of OOP GW Lizardmen(?), around 20+ years ago. I painted most of them several years ago. I had 20 left lingering in my Painting Queue, until a few days ago. I finished them, along with some other mini's.

I've been slowly painting up 60mm Vikings figures to use as Frost Giants, for the past 15+ years. I finally got around to finishing the last of them. They're not the greatest sculpting, but they will work for my needs to run G2: Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarl, with full, 3D terrain, and loads of mini's… I purchased a small paint roller set, and a large bottle of Apple Barrel White Acrylic Craft Paint, to apply to some foam mats, as my ground terrain. I have all of the modular ice cavern sections painted. I had some mats done up, around 10 years ago, but the latex house paint peeled off. So, this time, I will use rubber mats that I know will hold craft paint, and I will use strictly craft paint -- no latex house paint!

The figures' bases still need to be finished, but otherwise, they are table ready. The left Yeti is a D&D pre-paint figure; the Yeti on the right is a Reaper mini. I'll cover the winter creatures' bases with a white snow cover, to finish those off. Link to photo of them altogether.

I also picked up some Reaper Winter Wolf figures to augment the Marx toy Winter Wolves I had already. The Reaper Winter Wolves were added to my collection, and my paint queue, just last year. All are done. I just need to paint up the rubber mats, and then it will be time to schedule the G2 game, using 1e AD&D RPG rules. This has been a dream of mine since my senior year in High School, circa 1982. Cheers!

The oldest castings in your queue can just barely vote? In December, I painted up a 30mm pikeman I was given as a sample c. 1972. He was the easiest to date, but I doubt he was the oldest.

That said, congratulations on following your dream for 40 years.

Thank you. I built a 2.75D Steading of the Hill Giants, ran it with painted mini's, some 30+ Hill Giant figures, several years ago. G2 is next. G3 is ready, as far as the mini's go. Just interested in doing the G-series, with full 2.75D-3D terrain. It's been a real blast to work towards these goals. Cheers!

All in good time

Ha! Amateurs. Last summer I painted up 40+ year old WWII French micro armour from Scotia.

Same same. My last D&D game was with 2nd edition, so it's been a while since I picked up any new figures.

Last month, I completed a touch up and rebase for 3 hill giants (2 old RalPartha and 1 even older Heritage figure).

Currently on the workbench is an old Heritage Ettin (heavily converted), a smaller giant and an old 54mm conquistador (as Gary Gygax suggested for giants). The conquistador is almost a complete rebuild and at this point is totally unrecognizable as the original figure.

Great fun working on these old figures.

I have some Zombicide zombies that have been (standing?) around for over 6 years. Because I haven't figures what color(s) to paint their shoes…

I have a hundred or so Minifigs S range British Napoleonics that may be the oldest I have unpainted🤔

I had some Grenadier fantasy miniatures, made of lead, that I bought in 1981. I finally painted them up in the early 2000's. I have some plastic TSR (Ral Partha) miniatures dating from the mid-1980's, that I still need to paint. I think those are my oldest, unpainted miniatures, currently.

I am trying to get my oldest miniatures painted up. Neither I, nor my miniatures, are getting any younger. I sold off a bunch of miniatures I knew I would never paint, 15+ years ago. I don't want to sell off any more of them. I want to push them (fully painted) around my gaming table -- that is why I bought them! Trying to end my procrastination, and get them painted, and played with. My life is growing shorter, not longer. Running out of time. Cheers!

I am just painting up my 1066 project, including Vikings etc., that I started buying in the late 70s. Certainly 40+ years old. My first ever metal figures, now 47 years old, are still unpainted.

Finally tackled my oldest painted D&D models, which have languished in storage cases since the late 80s/early 90s due to being heavy and not based properly. Glued them onto rightsized wooden bases with my usual magnets for movement trays, found space in my current transport solution, will be flocking this weekend.

So my mastadon with howdah came out at last Friday's D&D; the space cat, hounds of tindalos, and chaos warrior on juggernaught still waiting to serve.

my oldest and unfinished painting is the bulk of my 2 boxes of Grenadier Ad&D Wizards box 2001 and my share of ( my brother has the other half) of Box 2003 Dwarfs and the fighter set. I think they were purchased about 1979 or 80 when I was a young teen.

THink there was a KS that remade some of these and I have considered buying some, other than the price plus shipping. the 3 or 4 out of each box I painted were some of my first DnD characters that I used, and I still have fond memories of them.

Unsure if I will paint the others in the boxes or not, most minis for dnd are now 28mm or larger, and these are what would be considered heroic 25's? Really like them though.

All my wargaming now is at 15mm scale and they dont match well with most "modern" dnd minis size wise, but I really like the size, much better then all the scale creeped stuff.
