Just another 40 Lancers for the Duty Squadron in Waterloo Remodelled. Unlike the first 28, these are all in campaign rig, but they still took ages to do. Much grinding of Art Miniaturen 3rd Silesian Landwehr cavalry and then lots of Greenstuff, to give them that Red Lancer look.
I thought I would have a go at doing a better lace edge to the shabraque, with the thin inner yellow stripe. Should still be thinner and the three retaining studs for the lancer pennants are still overscale alas.
Based up by James (as I have seen in the last few days from him) these should look good outside La Belle Alliance.

Wonderful, especially with all the conversion work that has gone into these. Somehow the campaign dress is more eye catching than the full dress.

That feedback is very much appreciated, so thanks to all.

I have never liked the full dress look for the Red lancers, whilst I feel the reverse about the Poles. Scarlet and dark blue is fine, but red pantalons and czapka tops and then too much yellow is a bit garish I think. Let's face it, these are probably right for Waterloo. Even then I wonder about aiguilettes and fringed epaulettes on a muddy battlefield, but that would be too plain.

I meant to show a simple conversion I did on six (one a trumpeter) amputating a right arm at the shoulder and replacing with a Franznap arm and shouldered sword. A bit small, but adding the gauntlet cuff hid that.

Begs the question. Did the rear rank carry a lance? Dawson's book on Waterloo suggests every regt had enough lances to go around, but were they all used? I would be very nervous in the front rank, knowing I was followed by gents with a levelled lance point.

A very strong Red you're achieving there Liam – my congratulations.

Your turn to the dark side is complete 😉

Truly. Given away all my 28mm figures have I. Money for charity raised they.

Heck , even the 20mm 1/72 figures all go off in the post to "a better hole", much to Mrs F's satisfaction.

All I have left at home now is a growing mountain of 20mm Napoleonic lead and plastic, an attic full of 1/72 (and a few 1/35) AFVs unmade, and three shelves of 2eme DB vehicles finished and crewed.

The red? Vallejo scarlet for the uniforms and vermillion for the pennants and portmanteaux. Off a wet palette (best invention ever)

and of course, after all the conversions I have done to create Guard Lancers at rest, what do Franznap add to their catalogue only today?

I just hope they prove to be too small to mix with AM or I shall weep

I feel your pain. The only wAy to get a figure released is to spend time laboriously converting your own first
