Today pictures from the museum in Kalkriese; maybe the spot of the Varus battle.
Nice display of a march column interpreted with miniature figures.
English translation at the end of the german text.

Interesting. Evocative. Perhaps a few less photos-or rather, a few more captions would have helped until we can find our way there ourselves.

I think the Legion and Auxilia miniatures may have been sculpted by Tony Barton.
