A scenery manufacturer that I have overlooked until today, Battle Honors 3D appears to have some very nice 3D printed models. Various historical periods are represented in multiple scales. I was wondering if anyone here at TMP has experience with this company. Are their models quality and reasonably sturdy, easy to paint, etc?

Cheers!

I recognise these as from the 3D Print Terrain files, and presume they have a commercial license to sell prints. The original files are superb and these prints should be fine.

They have been helpful in email correspondence whilst putting an order together. I'm expecting to receive an order for various 6mm buildings shortly.
I note they do refer to the German designer mentioned above on their site. Not sure if they have any other licences yet.

Gallocelt08 Jan 2023 12:17 p.m. PST

I first noticed the company on Etsy while shopping for ship models. I think your right, miniMo. Battle Honors 3D must produce the buildings under license from the German company, 3d Print Terrain. It seems Battle Honors 3D is a UK company, thus the expensive shipping to the USA. It surprises me that, to my knowledge, no one in the USA has decided to get licensed to produce the buildings.

N Drury, if you choose to inform the group, I'll be very interested in your assessment of the quality of the 6mm buildings once you've had a chance to look at them. I always worry about printer layer lines spoiling the looks of a 3D print.

Cheers!

Some great items. When I finally get around to recreating the Siege of Badajoz, I'll know where to go.

I wish BH USA would do this. Some great looking items.

captaincold6908 Jan 2023 10:02 p.m. PST

Thanks for this. Adding them to my favorites

It seems that I'm especially interested in Battle Honors 3D Napoleonic series. The breached wall at Badajoz looks incredible. The Marengo tower is also sharp.

I think a company based here in the USA would do well to pick up this line. Still I'm very tempted to pay the extra shipping and order from the UK.

Cheers!

Very pleased with the 6mm items I ordered, no issues with layer lines, and everything seems to have arrived intact. Some of the surface detail will only show up properly once undercoated and/or ink washed I suspect. I'll do a size comparison with other ranges later and try some photos. My camera phone wont' really do them justice though.

As the designer of the buildings mentioned, i would have to say something,-))

Battle Honors 3d has some licenses to print my buildings. Of course, I also have to answer the question about a licensee in the USA. Here I recommend Ron Weaver, who is licensed to print all my print files.

Thanks, N Drury, for the information about the quality of Battle Honors 3D models. I suppose one could spray coat the models with white primer then wash with dark brown. As far as size, I'm guessing the 15mm buildings will be compatible with 15mm/ 18mm figures, as advertised, so they would be larger than Hovels but smaller than Blue Moon?

Cheers!

Hello jensutkremp,

Thanks for introducing yourself as the 3D model designer. Clearly you are very talented and research your models quite well. I noticed you are from Schleswig-Holstein, an area that I am including on my map of Thirty Years War Germany. I also noticed that you have designed some models that are Danish style for the same region. Of course, you have many ranges of buildings that span several locations and time periods. Modern war gamers are quite fortunate to have printed 3D models like these that really meet their needs.

Cheers!

I also have the right to sell Jens designs. Plus several other maker of stl files. My location is in New Baltimore Mi. To include miniatures.

captaincold6914 Jan 2023 10:30 a.m. PST

Too bad that US retailer doesn't print in 6mm

Gallocelt15 Jan 2023 12:39 p.m. PST

I ordered the Battle Honors 3D models through Etsy. Shipping was $13.96 USD. The company combined shipping. Battle Honors 3D does print in 6mm scale.

Cheers!

Thanks, but there isn't an option for 6mm. Maybe most 3d printing sites don't like printing in this scale?

N Drury18 Jan 2023 5:53 a.m. PST

Probably worth asking if they will. If they are printing to order rescaling is certainly possible and Jens Najewitz's files certainly come out well in 6mm.

I agree you don't get what you don't ask for. I had a customer ask for some single Norman Knight riders w/o the horses to put on his Britain's Detail horses. Not a problem. We figured out the scale and bingo a private sale.

Gallocelt20 Jan 2023 1:14 p.m. PST

All too true. I wanted a 3D printed airplane from a vendor at Shapeways. They didn't have my scale so I communicated with him. He said, "no problem, give me a couple weeks." He then emailed me that he had sent some new files to Shapeways and he sent me a link to the new listings. I ordered and was pleased that they were good models, true to scale.

Of course, he was one of two vendors from whom I requested the scale changes. I never heard back from the other vendor.

Cheers!

cent at war26 Jan 2023 7:35 a.m. PST

Just received my first 6mm models fantastic details great prices will purchase more.

Gallocelt29 Jan 2023 7:52 a.m. PST

That is encouraging, cent at war. I should be receiving my order in a week or so since they recently emailed me to let me know that it shipped. I have ordered from the UK in the last year, as I recall, the US dollar was at a high against the GBP at the time. Shipping was not as bad as I thought. I was checking out the Hussite camp set and although I don't collect Hussites, I was very impressed with the gabions, tents and wagons. The really had that renaissance look. Sadly, this set doesn't seem to be available in 6mm.

Cheers!

I've had an order outstanding from mid-March for a building set from Battle Honours 3D.

Has anyone received orders placed in, around, or after this past month of March, for 3D Printing products from this company?

Enquiring, because I've received no return reply about my order's status yet either.

Gallocelt11 Jun 2023 6:41 a.m. PST

When I go to Battle Honors 3D site at Etsy I get this message:

"Note from shop owner
Last updated on Mar 29, 2023

Dear valued customers,

Thank you for your interest in Battlehonours3d. We would like to inform you that we are currently in Etsys "holiday mode" to try to attempt to catch up with our current backlog of orders and regretfully not accepting any new orders at this time. Our team is working tirelessly to fulfill the high demand of outstanding orders and we are committed to providing the same exceptional quality that our customers have come to expect from us.

We understand that this may cause inconvenience and frustration for some customers, however, we believe it is necessary to focus on completing our backlogged orders before accepting new ones. This will enable us to improve our turnaround time and better serve our customers in the future.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time and look forward to reopening soon with even more variety and exceptional quality products.

Sincerely,
Michael"

I received my order a while ago but I won't be ordering more until they take that notice down and make an announcement that they are ready for orders.

Cheers!

Thanks Gallo, that helps!

A week ago I received an emailer from them titled – " It's been a while…", and when opened linked to a page advert "Have you seen what people have been buying?", and a button to – Shop Now.

That set me off (sending me an advert to shop), and I'm still waiting on an order 3 mos. later.

Gallocelt13 Jun 2023 7:11 a.m. PST

Hi FlyXwire,

I just checked their Etsy link again and the notice about taking a break is still up. As I am in the USA, I will probably order again through Etsy but I won't be ordering till they take their message down.

Cheers!

Battle Honours 3D19 Aug 2023 7:03 a.m. PST

Hey Chaps, Michael from Battle Honours 3D here. Just stumbled upon this thread and wanted to get back to the questions that have been left here. Sadly I had some health issues where I was in and out of hosptial. My health is on the mend, and we have hired some addional support to aid with the models, so everything is back up and operation, both direct, on Ebay and Etsy. Sorry about the automated marketing emails, its something that was set up prior to my health concerns, and as soon as someone reach out to let us know they had a marketing email without thier order we stopped it immediately. As Jens has pointed out, we do stock some of his buildings, and links can be found to his products at the bottom of all items that he has designed, and must admit, those are some fantastic designs at that. We produce all our smaller models in 8k liquid resin, which gives you better quality than can be provided on FDM machines. Many businesses avoid liquid resin as its messy and requires additional cleaning and curing before the products can be used. We found that Jens and other models come out and look amazing in 8k all the way down in 6mm. If anyone else has any questions please reach out, Thanks Michael
