I play the Highland bagpipe, have done for decades; played in bands, competed in solo competitions, and am a keen student of the instrument's history, music, and place in the culture of Scotland. It's nice to see an article (however cursory) that recognizes the importance of pipers in the British military, altho' their role in Highland clans long predates these regimental distinctions. |
