Need some advice on creating some paper labels that I can attach to the underside of command bases so that a portion is exposed listing unit name and a few stats (plan on using Field of Battle so it will be combat die and defense die along with remaining unit integrity).

What is the best program to make labels? I will need them about 30mm wide (width of my bases), any programs allow me to alter the length/width of the label? I may try to get exotic with color or even national flags but that's doubtful.

Any adice or suggestions? Thanks!

Excel or another spreadsheet

Any Word processor can do it. Use tables and fix the height and width you need.

Yes, just use the table function on your word processing software. You can make them to any dimensions you need.

I do mine in Word.

I find Powerpoint is the easiest program to use for these kinds of things.

Draw a shape (box) the size you need. Very easy to add text and images like national flags. I did labels for my WW1 ships:

Word and Excel are the 2 best programs, to be sure. People tend to swear by one or the other. If you are happy using Excel, it is the best program to use, but Word is quite user friendly and will do the job well.
