I am thinking of downsizing my 28mm GNW collection to 15mm and have been looking at the ranges from Dixon Miniatures. Are there any other manufacturers that are compatible with Dixon? I'm based in the UK if that helps.

Thanks

Have you looked at Minifigs GNW in 15mm? Dave Higgs did a great job of sculpting them. IIRC, they are close to Dixon in size but the Minifigs are a smaller stature. It is a nice range.

Thanks Tom, will check them out.

Roundway did a great range, and very compatible with Dixon's. I use the GNW generals to fill in for the absence in the Dixon's range. Roundway seemed to go missing a couple of years ago. Does any one know the current situation with them?

The Dixon range is beautiful EXCEPT the Swdedish pikemen who are both incorrectly posed i.e., left-handed, although I expect left-handers would've been drilled to conform to their right-handed compatriots.

I second the Roundway suggestion but also have no idea what has happened to the range or where to find it.

The Minifigs have charm and the period is one of their best 15mm ranges (IMO).

Blue Moon do a range but are nearer 18mm and the photos, especially the horses, look a little awkward.

I'd strongly recommend Legio Heroica (good photos on their site) albeit their online ship is closed – it says 'temporarily' but with the creator passing away and the range being taken over by family it's hard to say what's going to happen next. Try contacting them for an update.

Almost forgot…

Khurasan Miniatures do a (very) late C.16th range that includes Caroline Swedes and Poles that could be used at a pinch. Very nice figures.

Thanks both. I ordered an army pack of the Dixon Swedes to see what they are like. I would like to mix and match with other manufacturers to get a mix of poses.

I might avoid the Dixon pikemen and use other manufacturers if they are suitable.

I bought, but did not use, the Dixon pikemen. Did not think they mixed with the rest of the range and they had an odd pose.

Received packs from Minifigs and Dixon. Like you guys say, the two packs of left-handed pike from Dixon are a mistake. I see they both mix well.

I will look at Blue Moon next.

You could also look at Irregular. I'm mixing them with Dixon and Miniature Figurines.
