Another year done. I'm pretty happy with the results. Finished up the ACW project. Painted all the ARVN figures I bought for Vietnam but not the Duster that needed assembly. Put a decent dent in the Warring States Chinese. Although originally there was no plans for a new project I did invest heavily in Mark's Little Soldiers and managed to paint quite a few.

Last months post. TMP link

Bought – 76 (Mark's Little Soldiers 30mm)
Painted – 35 (19 Mark's Little Soldiers 30mm, 16 ACW Cavalry 15mm)
Month – -41

bought – 206
painted –328
net – +122

I came out dead even for the year. Painted exactly as many figures as I bought. This year see if I can get it to the postive again, last year I came in +700.

So, with Christmas and going out of state to see relatives, it was not a good month for painting. None of which stopped some things from arriving.

I purchased 41 figures and an artillery piece
I painted nothing all month.

For the year, I purchased 252 figures
I painted 224 figures
This makes me 28 fewer painted than purchased for the year.

<Sigh>

Maybe next year will be better.

Well much as I expected, purchases outweighed, painting. I did take this last week off work, but it was a week to rest, and painting was not high on the list of things to do. I've been pushing the last three years, I think I'll take a step back for a bit. I'll still paint but at a lesser pace. Anyway here is the month;

Bought
27 – LOTR Uruk Hai
10 – Flintloque
17 – 28mm Carolingians
122 – 28mm Marlburians
16 – 28mm Landsknechts
112 – 28mm Pike and Shot
32 – 28mm Fauns
94 – 28mm Amazons
40 – 28mm Satyrs
48 – 28mm Pirates
Total – 517

The Greek fantasy stuff and the pirates were from 2 year old KS that both landed in the last week. The rest were all just godd deals.

Painted

22 – 15mm ECW
15 – 28mm Renaissance Skeletons
150 – 15mm Napoleonic Prussians

total – 187

This Month – -330

YTD – +943

Those KS killed me for the year, oh well. On to the next.

The second year of The Pledge for me and it mostly went well in terms of productivity. The final numbers are rather too flattering really because most of the work was re-organising, painting finishing touches and basing painted figures. That said it's nice to see the majority of my French Napoleonic army in the 'finished' column.

This month I at last had a chance to finish the Duchy of Warsaw Horse artillery

Polish horse artillery bty: 2 guns, 8 crew
Polish horse artillery bty: 2 guns, 8 crew

Bought 0
Based & Finished: +20

Over the year I've finished 907 figures and bought 56 for a final 2022 YTD figure of +851.

So how about 2023? I strongly suspect I'll be reporting a much lower total next year! Things are likely to be busy in several different directions. Anyway, we'll see.

The Guard lancer to Duchy of Warsaw uhlans paint conversions are on the painting board now. When they are finished I'll move on to basing some French cavalry, certainly chasseurs and carabiniers need doing, but I'll need to review the other regiments as well. There'll also be a good few batteries of horse artillery that need their guns painting and the units based.

When the Cav are done it'll be time for me to move on from Napoleonics for a while and have a go at some 6mm ACW.

Well I haven't been able to paint for any length of time fox six months due to a move. I finally have my hobby space set up and plan on cracking out D&D minis! Plus my literaly chickens have started to lay eggs so the year is off to a good start!

DOUGKL06 Jan 2023 12:53 p.m. PST

Congratulations whitphoto. My daughter has a flock of 20 that just started laying. they are noticeable better than store bought eggs. Good luck with your chickens and minis.

Hi kids, didn't paint anything but I did buy…

2 25mm Kryomek vehicles.

Year to date:
Bought: 164
Painted: 315

Reduction in lead mtn: 151

I'd call it a win but would've liked to paint more figs.
