"On to 2023" Topic

So, starting with a review, 2022 was going to be Kill team, New Year New Army (Orks) and Warlord Epic. Kill Team stayed on track and I got to three tournaments and one league. I realized I don't like painting Orks so that died. Epic never lived up to its potential, the 60mm frontage was too restrictive and my interest waned.

Surprises that got me off track was Horus Heresy and the MESBG refresh. I've also had the realization that whatever I'm painting is what I'm meant to paint so that Blood Angels Kill team was meant to be.

In 2023 I will focus on Warcry, more Heresy and Middle Earth. I plan on playing in more Kill Team tournaments and might enter Golden Demon because who wouldn't like a good laugh! I want to 3D print an entire Bolt Action force and something like Warlord Epic on 40mm frontage.

Threats this year will be 10th edition and Warhammer Old World along with Alpha Strike or another fast play stompy robot game.

I'm waiting for Warhammer Old World as well. I was playing Total War: Warhammer last couple of nights, & was on the GW website looking at Dark Elves (and then I started looking for discounts!).

Personally I want to focus on Lion Rampant (medieval historicals), more DBA armies, maybe finish up my Oathmark collection, etc.

I will be continuing my 1066 project. Welsh and Norman armies are close to the finish line, Saxon 50 done, 150 to go, Vikings not started yet.

But my real ambition is to join the local club, which I've known about for a while but haven't visited.

Dagwood – good luck with the project. Sounds like a new year's resolution to me! Another could be to go check out the club. That one would be an easy resolution for sure.

My resolution for 2023 is to paint whatever I want, whenever I want. I think that I should be able to keep that one!

Last two painting projects are 28mm Tudor English--all castings in hand unless I add 8 Irish Kern--and 6mm WWII Italians. Castings on hand or ordered except for Bersaglieri command, which will be the January order. After that, it's strays when I feel like it.

Otherwise, improved rules and campaign systems, and more connection to local miniatures gamers, especially historical players.

But no plan survives contact with the enemy.

Looking at working on some more Western Buildings, Pirate Ships, and 1930s era stuff for gangster/pulp games. Possibly some ECW/Euro buildings for some Witchfinder General.
I really need to get a lot more painted as my mountain o' lead continues to grow.

You are much more focused than me, Mr. Elmo. I am still waiting to see where my epic project goes; I've painted up 800 figures so far.

Last year 1st quarter was work on 1/700 RN fleet for Victory at Sea "patio sized " games. Then three quarters of painting Blood and Plunder miniatures and terrain. After 2004 28mm painted pieces of terrain or miniatures for four B&P factions… really five, as I painted a "faction of Arabic" pirates, that project completed this week save a couple of B&P ships.
For YR2023 first quarter will complete the RN 1/700 collection then paint FOW platoons (Axis, French, and Allies), in 20mm, for Italian East Africa and early 1940/1 North Africa, with side battles for Vichy France Syria. Return to B&P Dutch and Native factions in time for YR2023 B&P summer campaign. That's the plan…. subject to changes on the whim.

My goal is to sell a bunch of stuff, and then refocus my gaming. Can't do the second without the first.

Be working on Dark Age SAGA/Ravenfeast armies. Huns, Byzantines, Strathclyde, Goths, Russ and Franks to go. Finishing up 30+ buildings for the time period.

Other than that, I will continue to assemble, paint up, etc. all my 6mm Sci-fi. But that has been SOP for decades …

Have to complete this task before I'm recalled to the Mothership. 🛸👽 Which could be anytime now …
