In the latest call intercepted by Ukrainian intelligence, an occupier says the Russians have been ordered to shoot on sight for drunkenness in the Russian army…

This is not possible, Russians drink vodka like fish in water. It's in every movie book of Russian history from Czarist to modern

Well, discipline is quite bad when you give orders like that… And shooting drunk Russian soldiers? You would have to shoot every single soldier and officer… Whole Russian army would be shot within 72 hours.

Dn Jackson23 Dec 2022 6:15 p.m. PST

Soledad, does the last soldier have to shoot himself?

Zephyr123 Dec 2022 9:35 p.m. PST

Problem is if the drunks in question start to shoot back. I think there is going to be a lot of "looking the other way" going on…

Dn Jackson, well technically yes. If he is sober enough to do it. But then he is not drunk so should not be shot. Difficult dilemma.

Just so they shoot each other … it's a win-win …

The intercepted calls home from vatniks and mobiks alike drive home their desperate reliance not merely on drink, but stupified drunkeness.

Such an order, even if remotely obeyed, would be a circular firing squad, so I don't think we'll hear of much benefit from it.

The Russian Army (with so very few "Russians" in it, after all) is easily the most incompetent, incapable, and hapless since… I can't really think of a suitable precedent.

When The Day finally dawns of the next Ukranian counter-offensive, that may be the beginning of the fastest collapse of an army in the field in the last century. Or two.

Look to January, once the earth is thoroughly frozen virtually to the Black Sea coast, for the hammer to fall.

Frankly, I'm laying in a good supply of popcorn and drinks to watch it all happen in real time.

Yes, I think when the Ukraine is on the offensive, they will push the Russians and their supporters out and kill a lot of Russians too.

The Winter War of 1940? Remember, they eventually learned from their mistakes that time.

The Winter War of 1940? Remember, they eventually learned from their mistakes that time.

But they were defending Mother Russia in that one…

Based on Russian's performance ….they don't seem to have learned much …

If anyone wants to see what the Russian Army has "learned"--or is learning--in this moronic war, let them watch this
video of an "Officer" (I use the word sarcastically) proving their army's mastery of leadership: link
