"If you like the beginning of your year spiced up with some good old sf you will be happy to hear that Stargate's Dean Devlin is back on the telly from February with new twelve episode series THE ARK which will air on SyFy also produced by Jonathan Glassner. The cast is led by Christie Burke, Richard Fleeshman, Reece Ritchie, Stacey Read, and Ryan Adams. You can also check out a very short teaser for the new series below and tell us what you think.

It takes place 100 years in the future when planetary colonization missions have begun as a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race. The first of these missions on a spacecraft known as Ark One encounters a catastrophic event causing massive destruction and loss of life. With more than a year left to go before reaching their target planet, a lack of life-sustaining supplies, and loss of leadership, the remaining crew must become the best versions of themselves to stay on course and survive."

After 4 episodes I'm wondering what's left to screw-up on this poorly planned operation.
EVERY senior, and apparently mid-rank, person in a single "pod"? No actual defined chain of command?
Passenger smuggling "dirt" by the ton?
Single water recycler?
Single power source /radiation leak (looked like antifreeze)?

I'll probably keep watching but am terribly underwhelmed to date.

And run out of fuel.
U-238 is metal, not the glowing liquid used in the show.

And kit bashing a Faster-than-light drive as an add-on box the existing system sounds a bit hokey.
