A mere bleat of protest. I bought a box of the Wargames Atlantic 28mm horses--which are very good horses, and I recommend them highly. But there's no conceivable way to mount my "large 25mm/28mm" demi-lancers on them. Not even close. In fact, I brought out some Lutzow Freikorps Uhlans intended for my 30mm CLS armies. Closer, but still not a fit. The remounts are not too tall at the shoulder for either group, but they're much too well-fed.

Does anyone have a way of measuring riders and horses to prevent this sort of thing? Know of a source of skinnier large 25/28mm horses? Failing either, look for me at conventions, wandering table to table in the flea market carrying a demi-lancer like a good luck charm.

I know this is going to sound horrible but can you lop off the legs of the lancers then re-attach and reposition using greenstuff to sculpt the new pose?

Not pose, Tubby: I'd have to add the scale equivalent of 6-12" of leg, pretty much going out sideways from the hip. It would look even more horrible than it sounds.

You have British heavy cavalry horses, there's the mix up.

Try Iron Duke/Empress horses from their "THEM" range?

Thank you, mjkerner. But they're not talking size or even scale.

The distance between the boots of my demilancers is 11mm. Would Iron Duke fix my problem, or just add another dozen horses to my next flea market table?

Same problem, here :( Very nice pieces but too wide for the figures ah wanted to mount on them.

I should re-emphasize that these are really very nice horses assembling in a variety of poses. And when I tried them with a Perry (or Warlord?) I had in the strays tray, he fit perfectly well. I simply hadn't realized how hard scale creep had hit.

I bet the RAFM ancient horses would work.
