After 30 years, the nice thing about GW price increases is that they help you set your clocks. This year, GW has increased prices about 5% but not the MSRP so it's squeeze on stores, not consumers. Many stores have lowered their discounts by 5% from 20 to 15.

So why not increase wholesale prices another 15% and everyone can sell at retail. Warhammer is still top dog and people are still buying what is perceived as a luxe product. Perhaps they will boil the frog with 5% YoY

That's interesting.

Nice metaphor.

I'm kind of surprised, with all the 3D printable lookalike figs out there, that they keep up with the price rises.

I do have a few "Primary Space Brothers" but most of my 3D printing for Warhammer is bits like shoulder pads.

What is interesting, speaking of 30 years, is 3D printing is the modern version of the recasting argument. Their stuff is too expensive, you didn't hurt sales as you weren't going to buy it…and on and on. Recasting is probably a deeper layer of hell in the end.

Ultimately if you want a Rolex, a fake Rolex is a poor substitute. You can't hide the truth from yourself.

5% what an increase!

Looking over my favorite on-line store offering the November into December increases have been averaging over 15% for the same metal 25/28mm miniatures….. for example a $17 USD item now $21 USD….three weeks later. Said miniature item is not new… been available over a decade.

Inflation proofing your wealth…have a large fully painted metal miniature collection. Plastic not so much…time will tell the effects of 3D printing.
