On their website, all of the starter packs are unavailable, and I haven't found other sellers. How does one break into the game? I've heard good things in podcasts, but not how to get stuck in.

The rules and cards are available free on their website. I guess you could use them and proxies. Don't know it you need anything special to actually play the game.

Nearly all my figures for 7TV are from other manufacturers. Just make up stat cards to suit the figures you have.

I just wondered if there were a "Starter Box" so to speak. I'll check out the link though. Thanks!

The central spy fi rules are a free download and that includes character cards etc. There used to be a big glossy box but that seems to have been OOP for a long while. The more recent variants of the system still seem to have the boxed format. Arguably given the format you don't need a starter set- all the miniatures are on the site and some are sold as sets but you can take this where your own imagination leads you. There is a background but one you can happily ignore. I really miss their forum which I think got taken down as it was getting spammed to death

IIRC from comments in the recent 7TV Dracula Kickstarter (which will be coming with its own Core Rules), they are planning on a new box set in the coming year or so which will consolidate Spy-Fi, Pulp, Fantasy, Whatnot.

In the meanwhile, all the rules are available in PDF.

I thought that they sold digital rules-sets.

I seem to recall ordering one a few years back, but had trouble getting it to print properly due to US vs. UK/EU paper sizes, so have not done much with it.

A new hardcopy version of the 7TV core rulebook with all the fixings is currently on Kickstarter through 14 May. This incorporates material from the last 4 boxed sets. I missed getting a hardcopy of 2nd edition and quite looking forward to this:
