Some useful stuff here for anyone modelling the Anglo Irish war;

Interesting article. Why then aren't more Irish rebellion figures modeled wearing trench coats? Looking at the Footsore range, of the twenty IRA minis made, only five are wearing trench coats.

In defence of the footsore range, I guess a lot of IRA men and women didn't wear trench coats. A few more in the range would be nice though!

I would hazard a guess that the trench-coat would be more common among flying columns composed of experienced men 'on the run' and/or operating outside their locality.

A force operating locally might be more likely to have civilian attire, to more easily assemble and merge back into regular life e.g. members of the local IRA/Volunteer Companies, whether providing the main force in an ambush/barracks attack, acting as scouts, or a blocking force, or as shotgun-armed reinforcements to the main force.

Bonnaught, that's a good point. Perhaps Footsore needs to add a Flying Column pack or two?
