" This book covers the memoirs of Lieutenant John Hildebrand 35th Foot in the Mediterranean and Waterloo Campaigns, edited by Gareth Glover. The 1st Battalion of the 35th Foot was the main British regiment serving in the Adriatic during the Napoleonic Wars. John Hildebrand was present during most of the island and coastal hopping campaigns between 1811 and 1814. Glover has done an excellent job editing these memoirs, which were written sometime after the action. He corrects obvious errors and gives some important context…"

My first thought, not another book! But it does look interesting. And yes, the flamin' thing is on my to buy list now. Will I ever get that unread mountain down! Thanks for that Armand! LOL (But keep them coming) |

Armand Just discovered this title is not a new one, it was out in 2017 and is available for less than £10.00 GBP from some book sellers. Perhaps the reviewer is also trying to catch up with their unread pile of titles? LOL (I missed it when it first came out so I've still added it to my to-buy list-drat!) |

Dave Jackson Great post but I think Erasmus, these days, the way things are going, would, like many of us might have to, end up burning our book collections to replace insanely costly central heating and electric fires. |
